Real Salt Lake has announced that Utah's MLS side will host a 3-v-3 Soccer Tournament for children and adults from June 26-27 at Mt. Jordan Middle School (9360 S. 300 East in Sandy). Boys and girls teams (U-8, U-9 through U-18 recreational & competitive) and male and female Open and Over-30 squads entering the tournament are guaranteed to play at least four matches during the weekend, with games starting at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, and at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. The finalists in each group will duke it out in their championship contests that Saturday evening on the east lawn of Rio Tinto Stadium during the Carnival Real pre-game festival in the lead-up to Real Salt Lake's match against Toronto FC.
Early registration for the tournament is recommended, as availability will be limited. Registration will be due no later than Sunday, June 14, with each group of 3-6 players required to pay $180 registration fee per team. RSL Youth Soccer Camps Kickoff in June; Provo Dates Changed to Aug. 10-14
With this summer approaching, Real Salt Lake will launch the formation of the new RSL Youth Camps program, a series of weeklong camps focusing on developing soccer skills for children playing at all levels of the sport. The 2009 RSL Youth Camps are slated to take place in eight cities across the northern half of the Beehive State from June through August. Please note that the dates for closing leg in Provo have changed, with that week of camps set to take place a week earlier than previously scheduled, now slated for Aug. 10-14:

June 22-26: Brigham City Box Elder Middle School (18 S. 500 East)
July 6-10: West Jordan West Jordan Soccer Complex, Fields B & C (4000 W. 7800 South)

Each of the eight RSL Youth Camps stops will be split into four distinct groups so that players of all ages and abilities can get the most out of the experience:
RSL Mini-Kickers Camp (Ages 4-8): $90, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
RSL Youth Skills Camp (Ages 9-18): $115., 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
RSL Youth Strikers Camp (Ages 10-18): $150, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
RSL Youth Goalkeepers Camp (Ages 10-18): $150, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

RSL-Utah Boys U-17 Team Tryouts Rescheduled to April 19 & 26
Due to inclement weather conditions last weekend, the Real Salt Lake Youth Development Program has announced the rescheduling of tryouts for its RSL-Utah Boys Under-17 Team, with the open phase of the tryouts now set to take place on Sunday, April 19, at Mt. Jordan Middle School (9360 S. 300 East in Sandy) from 3:00-6:00 p.m. MT. One week later on Sunday, April 26, the final, invitation-only session for selected trialists will take place at Mt. Jordan Middle School from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
The 2009 RSL U-17 Boys Team will consist of players born August 1, 1991 through July 31, 1994 (U-15 through U-17 age groups). Registration cost for the RSL-Utah U-17 squad tryout is $40, which includes a numbered Real Salt Lake tryout T-shirt and a ticket voucher for Real Salt Lake's MLS regular season contest at Rio Tinto Stadium against the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, May 16 (7:00 p.m. kickoff). Players planning on trying out must pre-register by Thursday, April 16, by submitting in the following:
1) A completed registration form (http://web.mlsnet.com/t121/pdf/player_registration.pdf)
2) A completed Release and Liability form (http://web.mlsnet.com/t121/pdf/release_of_liability.pdf)
3) A copy of the player's birth certificate
4) The $40 registration fee

RSL U-17s to Face F.C. Barcelona, Boca Juniors & Werder Bremen at this Summer's U-17 Club World Cup in Madrid
The Real Salt Lake Youth Development system has learned who its competition will be during the group play phase of this summer's U-17 Club World Cup competition in Madrid, with the troika of Spanish giant F.C. Barcelona, Argentinean power Boca Juniors, and perennial German Bundesliga contender Werder Bremen providing the world-class opposition RSL was expecting to face. The RSL U-17s will open up Group C play on Monday, June 1, against Werder Bremen before taking on Barcelona two days later, and closing up pool play against the two-time tournament champions (2005, 2006) from Boca Juniors on June 5.
The quarterfinals of the competition will take place on June 7, followed by the semifinals two days later and the championship on Friday, June 12. Also being represented at the fifth annual edition of the tournament will be hometown sides Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid in addition to AC Milan (Italy), Sao Paulo FC (Brazil), Goyang FC (South Korea), Partizan Belgrado (Serbia), RCD Espanyol (Spain), and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa).
