Revolution's SuperLiga semifinal info released

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution will host the reigning Mexican Apertura (fall season) champion, Atlante, in the semifinal round of SuperLiga 2008 at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at Gillette Stadium. Telefutura will televise the match nationally in Spanish.

Tickets for the match start at $19 and are available by calling 1-877-GET-REVS or through all Ticketmaster outlets, including ticketmaster.com and (617) 931-2222. Revolution season-ticket holders will use their tickets for "Special Event D" for the semifinal match.

Behind the team's 1-1 draw at Chivas USA on Sunday, July 20, at Titan Stadium in Fullerton, Calif., the Revolution clinched first place in Group B with a tournament-best seven points, earning the right to host its remaining SuperLiga games at Gillette Stadium so long as the team is in the tournament, including the championship match should the team advance.

Earlier in the tournament in group play, the Revs defeated the current Mexican Clausura (spring season) champion, Santos Laguna, 1-0, before replicating the result against SuperLiga 2007 and CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, Pachuca, in the second game.

The Revolution was the only team of the eight competing in SuperLiga to finish group play with an undefeated record (2-0-1, 7 pts.). Currently the top team in Major League Soccer (10-4-3, 33 pts.), the Revs hold a five-point lead over the rest of the league as they are in the midst of a three-week break from the MLS regular-season schedule.

Atlante finished second in Group A with a 2-1-0 record, but advanced to the semifinals by virtue of a tiebreaker with Mexico's CD Guadalajara, who also finished group play with a 2-1-0 record.

The Houston Dynamo, the top seed in Group A, will host Pachuca in the semifinals on Tuesday, July 29, at Robertson Stadium in Houston.
