Red Line Report: Top of the East reshuffles as Sounders solidify spot

Red Line Report - DL image

The top of the Eastern Conference had a lot of movement .

After Toronto FC failed to win a home game yet again, the New York Red Bulls sit atop the East after beating the Philadelphia Union 3-2 in a thriller at Red Bull Arena. New York City FC now sit in the No. 2 seed thanks to their 2-0 win at Houston on Friday night.

The Union's loss moved them all the way down to the No. 6 seed, with Montreal and D.C. United moving up after wins.

In the West, the Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy locked up Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoff berths despite varying results. The Rapids beat the Portland Timbers 1-0, moving Portland further away from a playoff spot. LA lost at Dallas, as Oscar Pareja's team moves closer to their second trophy this season.

The Seattle Sounders got their third-straight win, this one without Nicolas Lodeiro in Vancouver, as they moved up to the No. 5 seed. Sporting Kansas City dropped closer to the red line after their loss at New England, as they now sit just two points above Portland in the No. 6 seed.
