The Earthquakes have added a number of new features at Buck Shaw Stadium for the 2009 season that should create an even more fan-friendly atmosphere for Quakes fans.
First, the railing on the West side bleachers has been significantly lowered to improve sightlines for fans on that side of the stadium. The lower railing should also make for an improved television broadcast on Comcast SportsNet California.
A new addition on the South end of the stadium is the VIP Tent. The tent includes a beer and wine bar as well as television screens. On-field ticket holders receive free food in the VIP Tent, which is exclusively for on-field and premier midfield seat holders.
Due to our partnership with Amway Global, the fan zone area, as well as other areas of the stadium, will be significantly upgraded. The fan zone will feature the Amway Global interactive zone. The highlights include Amway products and other interactive components that show their global commitment to soccer. New Amway Global signage with Earthquakes player images will now appear at all entry points and the 30-foot Amway Global inflatable jersey will debut at Buck Shaw on March 21.
Along with those changes, the stadium will see improved food and beverage options around the stadium. Our partner, Aramark, has worked hard in the offseason to provide fans with high-quality food all over the stadium. The main beer garden will feature a taco tent and Aramark has also added a cheeseburger and hamburger stand, along with a BBQ brisket option at the BBQ stand.
