D.C. United announced Saturday that individual tickets for the club's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy will go on sale on Monday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. ET. The match is set for a 12:00 p.m. ET start at RFK Stadium on June 29 before a nation-wide television audience on ABC.
"Last year's game proved to be a marquee event living up to the pre-game hype," said United Executive Vice President Stephen Zack. "We're again expecting to fill every seat at RFK Stadium on June 29, so fans need to act early to assure their attendance at this historic match."
More than 20,000 tickets are already in the hands of United planholders and package buyers. Lower bowl seating has sold out with only a few hundred seats held for special packages, which will still remain available after the individual ticket sale date. This includes full and half-season ticket plans and two versions of a five-game MLS Stars Pack.
MLS Stars Packs remain available at two different price levels. VIP packets cost $143, while Premium packages are for sale at $116. Tickets for the LA Galaxy game are 400-level, with good locations reserved for the package while supplies last. The first package offers the following five matches: June 29 vs. David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy, Aug. 2 vs. Claudio Lopez and the Kansas City Wizards, Aug. 23 vs. Pablo Mastroeni and the Colorado Rapids, Aug. 30 vs. Juan Pablo Angel and the New York Red Bulls and Oct. 16 vs. Taylor Twellman and the New England Revolution. The second version provides these offerings: June 22 vs. Ivan Guerrero and the San Jose Earthquakes, June 29 vs. David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy, Aug. 2 vs. Claudio Lopez and the Kansas City Wizards, Sept. 13 vs. Duilio Davino and FC Dallas and Oct. 16 vs. Taylor Twellman and the New England Revolution. Tickets can be ordered on D.C. United's web site, DCUnited.com, or at (202) 587-5000.
In addition, player escorts for the match will be auctioned off on the club's website starting Monday, May 19th, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Kicks for Kids program that works with underprivileged area youth.
Fans can also purchase specialty priced "Seats for the Stars," prime location seating that contributes a portion of the proceeds to United for D.C. This program allows fans to purchase exclusive prime location seats in the lower bowl for the LA Galaxy game, while also providing an opportunity to help under-served youth enjoy the game. By purchasing these exclusive D.C. United vs. L.A. Galaxy seats through D.C. United's "Seats for the Stars" program, a portion of the proceeds will directly fund the cost of tickets and transportation to and from RFK Stadium for a group of under-served youth in the D.C. area through the Kicks for Kids program of D.C. United's charitable arm, United for D.C. In addition, "Seats for the Stars" ticket proceeds will support United for D.C.'s programs in the community; United Soccer Club, United Reads and Kicks for Kids.
