NEW YORK (Tuesday, May 12, 2026) – The Independent Review Panel, consisting of one representative from U.S. Soccer, one representative from Canada Soccer, and one independent representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has denied the Colorado Rapids’ appeal of the red card issued to defender Rob Holding in the 51st minute of Colorado’s match against St. Louis CITY SC on May 9.

As a result of the denied appeal, Holding remains ineligible to play in Colorado’s next regular season match against Minnesota United FC on Wednesday, May 13 (8:30 p.m. ET, Apple TV) as he serves a one-match suspension for the red card.

Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Since this is Colorado's first unsuccessful appeal, the club has one unsuccessful appeal remaining for any future dismissals in the 2026 season.
