The US men's national team look to put the disappointment of a second consecutive defeat to Mexico behind them when they take on Uruguay at Busch Stadium in St. Louis Tuesday night. The match is the final international friendly before the USMNT begin Concacaf Nations League A action next month.
On Friday night at MetLife Stadium, Mexico defeated the USMNT, 3-0, in the 70th all-time edition of the rivalry. Chicharito opened the scoring with a 21st-minute header and Erick Gutierrez and Uriel Antuna of the LA Galaxy tacked on insurance goals four minutes apart late in the second half. Josh Sargent had a chance to score late, but his penalty kick was saved by Jonathan Orozco.
Uruguay meet the USMNT for the seventh time following a 2-1 win at Costa Rica Friday. Flamengo midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta put La Celeste in front from the penalty spot. After Celso Borges leveled three minutes into the second half, Jonathan Rodriguez scored the late winner.
