Toronto FC's Amado Guevara captained Honduras to one of its greatest victories, a 4-0 thrashing of Costa Rica in World Cup Qualifying on Wednesday. The central midfielder played the entire 90 minutes for the Catrachos in the 50th edition of the Clasico Centroamericano at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.
Carlos Costly struck once in each half, Carlos Pavon scored in the 50th minute and Melvin Valladares added a 90th-minute goal for Honduras, which jumped into a second-place tie with the United States with a historic victory against Costa Rica, which remains atop the group with 12 points, two points ahead of Honduras and the United States.
