CHICAGO - The Chicago Fire and adidas have unveiled the designs for the Fire's new adidas home and away uniforms for the 2006 season, with defender and "Fire Original" C.J. Brown and newly-drafted midfielder Brian Plotkin presenting them to the public during a presentation at Lux Bar in downtown Chicago last evening.

As a result of the 10-year partnership between adidas and MLS, the 2006 season will mark the first year that the Germany-based supplier will sponsor the official team apparel and uniforms for all 12 MLS clubs and the first season it which it will serve as the official supplier of the Chicago Fire. In addition, adidas will supply the official match ball for Major League Soccer, the +Teamgeist MLS, when the League kicks off on Apr. 1, two months before the +Teamgeist will be used as the official Match Ball of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.

The Fire's new adidas uniforms will keep certain aspects of the club's previous jersey designs, most notably the "FIRE" and "CHICAGO" lettering emblazoned across the front of the home and away jerseys, respectively. Some new wrinkles for the 2006 edition of Chicago's uniforms include concave shaping patterns, a star above the Fire's badge to signify its 1998 MLS Cup title and adidas' signature three-stripe pattern on the sleeves and shorts.

The new Fire/adidas jerseys will be available to the public in stores and online beginning around Apr 1. Fans interested in pre-ordering their official Fire/adidas replica jerseys can do so by visiting www.MLSgear.com.
