For a third consecutive year, the San Jose Earthquakes and FC Fremont Soccer Club have teamed up as partners in the Earthquakes' unique Student of the Game program. FC Fremont re-joined the Quakes as a partner on Thursday, March 3.

FC Fremont is one of the largest leagues in the Bay Area, boasting 3,100 youth players. FC Fremont joined with the Quakes as a Student of the Game partner in 2003 and has been pleased with their involvement in the Earthquakes.
" The Student of the Game partnership provides a great opportunity for youth players to see soccer at its highest levels," FC Fremont President Sandy Movahed said. "The program provides tools that assists us in developing our players, coaches, referees and volunteers."
FC Fremont's spring season begins on March 19, as the league offers recreational and competitive youth teams from the Under-6 to Under-19 age groups. More information on the club can be found at

"We're pleased to welcome back F.C. Fremont as a 2005 Student of the Game partner," Earthquakes President & General Manager Alexi Lalas said. "This is a youth soccer club that recognizes the educational and entertainment value of an association with professional soccer."
The Earthquakes Student of the Game program was established in 2002 to provide Bay Area youth soccer leagues with an education-based curriculum that will further enhance youth players, coaches and parents soccer knowledge and appreciation for the game. The Earthquakes program motivates and educates by providing partner leagues with exclusive access to the Quakes coaches and players through coaching clinics and appearances, among other benefits.
In addition to a league night and pre-game "Parade of Champions", Student of the Game partner leagues are also able to take advantage of programs such as a special behind the scenes coaching clinic with Quakes and other MLS coaches at an Earthquakes home game in addition to on-site coaches clinics, player appearances, an Alexi Lalas appearance and an exclusive advanced level coaching event for their clubs. Partner leagues receive a newsletter with training tips for players; the ability to purchase uniforms and equipment at reduced rates, discounts on Quakes tickets as well as other fundraising and sponsorship options.
