After a comfortable win over OKC Energy FC in the fourth round, FC Dallas will try and knock off one of just two remaining USL Championship sides and book a spot in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals for the third time in four years when they host New Mexico United in the Round of 16 at Southern Methodist University's Westcott Field Wednesday night.

This is the first meeting between the teams in the USOC and the winner will hit the road to face either the Houston Dynamo or Minnesota United in the quarterfinals on July 10.

FC Dallas

FC Dallas scored two goals in each half to cruise to a 4-0 win over OKC Energy in the fourth round at Westcott Field.

Matt Hedges got on the end of Michael Barrios' corner kick to put the hosts in front on 11 minutes and Barrios doubled the lead two minutes from halftime. Dominique Badji got in on the party with a 53rd-minute set piece before Reto Ziegler capped the scoring in the 90th minute.

New Mexico United FC

The first-year USL Championship club is making quite a name for itself in the U.S. Open Cup after advancing to the Round of 16 on penalty kicks after playing the Colorado Rapids to a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes.

New Mexico opened the scoring in the third minute before Diego Rubio and Nicolas Mezquida followed with goals on either side of halftime to put the hosts in front, 2-1. It looked like Colorado would maintain that lead and advance, but Kevaughn Frater leveled in the fifth minute of stoppage time, sparking a wild celebration for the visitors, who prevailed in the shootout, 4-2.
