FC Dallas announced the re-signing of defender/midfielder Je-Vaughn Watson, pending the receipt of his P-1 Visa, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 31-year-old Jamaican appeared in 55 of 68 regular-season matches for FC Dallas over the past two seasons, scoring six goals – three of them game-winners – and picking up four assists. He has scored seven goals and notched six assists in 96 career regular-season appearances (68 starts).

Last year, Watson made 16 starts at right midfield, 11 starts at right back, and two at center back for FC Dallas, playing the last three months of the regular season primarily as a defender.

Watson was initially traded to FC Dallas from the Houston Dynamo prior to the 2013 season in exchange for Dallas’ second-round pick in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft; Watson appeared in 41 games over two seasons with Houston in 2011-12 and currently sits at 96 career MLS regular-season appearances.

An established Jamaican national-team regular, the versatile Watson has appeared in 32 matches and scored one goal for the Reggae Boyz since he made his senior debut in 2008.
