FC Dallas are mourning the loss of a well-loved academy player who passed away Thursday after suffering a ruptured blood vessel in the brain.

Delfino "Fino" Garcia was a member of FC Dallas' Premier 98s and has been a part of the FC Dallas Academy since 2010.

Fino was part of a three-peat Championship win at North Texas' 2014 State Cup, wins at the 2013 Region III Championship and play at the 2013 National Championship in addition to another visit to this year's 2014 Regional Championship and the Dallas Cup Finals. He was also named ESPN's 2012 Copa Most Valuable Player.

Garcia suffered the ruptured blood vessel on Sunday, while at home. He was brought to to the Children's Hospital of Dallas and was placed on life support as he was unable to breathe on his own and had no brain activity. Tests revealed that the condition was present since birth and could not have been prevented. He passed away peacefully on Thursday.
