Chivas USA prepare for fourth Super Clasico

Chivas USA is back in training in preparation for the game against the Los Angeles Galaxy on August 10, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, in a night of Derbies where Mexican sides Chivas de Guadalajara and Club America will also face off.


DOUBLE DERBY: Chivas USA will play the Los Angeles Galaxy in the fourth edition of the Honda Súper Clásico on August 10, at 7:00 p.m. in a doubleheader at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum which will be broadcast live through FSNW2. The second game will start at 9:00 p.m. between Chivas de Guadalajara and Club America for the Mexican Clásico.


TWO IN THE EAST COAST: Chivas USA will travel to Washington, D.C, to face Freddy Adu's D.C. United for the second time in the season. The first time was on April 2, in the Red-and-Whites debut in the MLS when D.C. United took a 2-0 victory over Chivas USA with goals by Joshua Gros and Christian Gómez. The game will be broadcast live through ESPN 2 and ESPN Deportes. Chivas USA will then travel to New York to face off against the MetroStars for the first time on August 21. The game will be broadcast live through KAZA Azteca 54.


AGAINST COLUMBUS: Chivas USA will host the Columbus Crew for the first time in its history on September 3, at The Home Depot Center after being on the road for the whole month of August. The Red-and-White will visit the Columbus Crew on October 1, at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.


RODRIGO LÓPEZ HELPS U.S. WIN MILK CUP: Chivas USA midfielder Rodrigo López played all three games that the U-18 U.S. National Team in the Milk Cup in North Ireland, which the U.S. won for the first time. On August 1, U.S. tied 1-1 against Brazil with a goal by Lee Nguyen. The U.S. National Team then played Serbia y Montenegro on August 3, and won 1-0, thanks to a goal by Charlie Davis. Finally The U.S. played the Milk Cup final against home team North Ireland on August 5, and won 4-2 with goals by Chivas USA midfielder Rodrigo López and a hat trick by Charlie Davis.


CHIVAS USA BEAT SEAHORSES ONCE AGAIN: Chivas USA played a scrimmage game at The Home Depot Center's Track and Field against the Seahorses of the PDL (Premier Development League) on August 4. The game ended with a score of 3-2 with goals by Mike Muñoz and trial players Anthony Stovall and René Corona.
