Burn to face Hispanic all-star team

DALLAS – The Dallas Burn, in conjunction with the Pan American Soccer Association and the Latin Futbol Federation, will play a friendly match against a team of Hispanic League All-Stars this Sunday, June 13 at 5:00 p.m. at Old Panther Field in Duncanville. Admission for the match is free.

The all-star team was selected after every team in the Latin American Futbol Federation, which consists of over 15,000 players, submitted a list of their top three players. Tryouts were then held featuring those players and the team was selected based upon those tryouts. Francisco Molina was selected to be the head coach of the all-star team for Sunday's match.</p>

Sunday's match is a direct result of a meeting that was held earlier this year between Burn President and General Manager Greg Elliott and a number of Latin soccer league presidents.</p>

"First, I would like to thank all of the Latin league presidents, especially Roberto Castillo, for pulling together a team of the area's best young Latin talent to showcase their abilities in this match against the Burn," said Elliott. "This match will allow our coaches to evaluate the best of the best talent in the Latin leagues, which helps us tremendously in our local scouting efforts. We hope that through these types of games and many other Latin league efforts, a local Hispanic player will some day become a player in our league."</p>
