AMSTERDAM – Recent US national-team call-up Benny Feilhaber was held back from dressing in friendlies against Argentina and Paraguay due to concerns over a thigh strain, MLSsoccer.com has learned.
The AGF Aarhus playmaker suffered the injury during the first half of of his club team's home win over Hobro that directly preceded his arrival at coach Bob Bradley's prep camp in North Carolina last week.
"[I have] a bit of a thigh strain, didn't want to re-injure it," Feilhaber told MLSsoccer.com by phone. "The physios thought it was a bit soon to play. I felt it a bit in the Hobro game before I left for camp. I should be back playing in two weeks' time."
Feilhaber was already ruled out for Sunday's visit from Kolding due to yellow card accumulation and the injury setback likely means that he will also miss next week's trip to Vestsjælland.
