American Bradley ends Bayern streak

Borussia Monchengladbach ended Bayern Munich's five-game winning streak by fighting back from two goals down to grab a draw.

Luca Toni put Jurgen Klinsmann's side ahead in the 21st minute and they seemed set to make it six wins in a row when Franck Ribery netted from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.

But the home side reacted with two goals in three minutes to salvage a much-needed point.

Rob Friend brought them back into the game in the 78th minute before Michael Bradley headed the equalizer to earn the Foals a point which lifts them out of the bottom three.

Bayern were ahead in the 21st minute with a typical striker's goal from Toni.

Lahm held off Tobias Levels near the goal line before pulling the ball back for the Italy international to poke home from close range.

Toni missed the chance to make it two 10 minutes later when he could only find the side-netting.

Bayern made a claim for a penalty in the 38th minute when Philipp Lahm appeared to be fouled inside the area by Patrick Paauwe, but referee Michael Weiner waved play on.

As it was, Klinsmann's side had to settle for just the one-goal advantage at the interval, and they were almost made to pay as the home side enjoyed a lively first 15 minutes of the second half.

Germany international Marko Marin was Gladbach`s danger man and he had a few good chances to grab an equalizer.

He was stopped by Lucio as he tried to enter the penalty area and then Mark van Bommel prevented him from getting a shot in when he did enter the box shortly afterward.

But Ribery doubled Bayern's lead in the 65th minute with a penalty which he earned himself.

The France international was fouled by Steve Gohouri on his way into the area and he stepped up himself to convert the spot-kick and give Bayern some breathing space.

It was not enough, though, as Friend brought the home side back into the game in the 78th minute when he rose above Martin Demichelis to head a loose ball into the back of Michael Rensing's goal.

And Bradley completed the recovery three minutes later. Roberto Colautti beat Christian Lell to the ball on the left and his delicate cross was weighted perfectly for Bradley to head in from close range and stun the defending champions.

Bayern's failure to win sees them lose ground on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim, who both won again today.
