Central American foes and World Cup hopefuls Costa Rica and El Salvador will face off to headline the opening doubleheader of the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ on July 3 at The Home Depot Center. This match highlights the first day of the 10th edition of the 12-team championship, which opens with a clash between Canada and Jamaica.
LA Galaxy season seat holders will have an exclusive window to purchase tickets to this doubleheader via a special offer that will be received through a season ticket holder e-mail bulletin. This exclusive window opens on Wednesday, April 8 and runs until Friday, April 17 when individual tickets go on sale to the general public through www.ticketmaster.com. Galaxy season ticket holders who purchase during the window will get $5 off the face value price of each ticket.
Additionally, the Galaxy will be offering a special two-game pack featuring the Gold Cup doubleheader and a Galaxy home game through www.lagalaxy.com or by calling 1-877-3GALAXY (342-5299).
The Gold Cup, which has seen record attendances and television ratings in each of the past two competitions (2005 and 2007), will be played coast-to-coast at an unprecedented 13 venues this year.
Each group has at least one representative from CONCACAF's three geographic regions: North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
