FC Dallas have signed winger Kalil ElMedkhar to a first team contract after acquiring his homegrown rights from the Philadelphia Union, the clubs announced Thursday. Philly will receive $50,000 General Allocation Money, further performance-based incentives as well as a sell-on percentage if ElMedkhar is transferred.

ElMedkhar, 21, played four seasons at the University of Kentucky where he had 20 goals and 21 assists in 66 appearances. He originally joined the Union academy in 2013 and graduated in the same class with Mark McKenzie, among others.

The move comes after Dallas has done some shifting on the wings this offseason.

Dallas traded Fafa Picault to Houston and Michael Barrios to Colorado, while they already signed Jader Obrian from the Colombian top flight.
