Competitive fixtures for the 2020 season are nearly upon us, kicking off with the Concacaf Champions League this week.

It's easier than ever this season to watch the region's best teams collide, with five MLS sides, four from Liga MX, two each from Costa Rica and Honduras plus one from Jamaica, El Salvador and Guatemala in this year's edition.

All matches can be viewed in the United States on Fox Sports (FS1, FS2 and streamed on Fox Sports Go), Univision and TUDN. In Canada, matches can be seen on TSN and RDS.

First leg matches for the Round of 16 kick off Tuesday. LAFC, Atlanta United, Montreal Impact, NYCFC and Seattle Sounders are the five MLS clubs involved this season.

Two years ago, Toronto FC lost in the final in agonizing fashion, on penalty kicks to Chivas Guadalajara. Last season, Sporting KC made it further than any MLS side, but lost convincingly in the semifinals to eventual champions CF Monterrey. Charles Boehm took a look at where all five MLS clubs stand in their preparation for the tournament.

Is this the year an MLS side lifts the trophy for the first time in the competition's history or will Liga MX continue their continental excellence in 2020?

Stay tuned.
