LA Galaxy host Victoria Block Party to celebrate opening of new safe-standing supporters' section

It was quite the scene at the LA Galaxy's home of Dignity Health Sports Park on Saturday, as the club hosted a raucous crowd of fans to celebrate the opening of Victoria Block, its new safe-standing supporters' section.

Victoria Block, located at the North end of the stadium, was christened by the Galaxy supporters groups Angel City Brigades, Galaxians and the Galaxy Outlaws, who gathered to cheer on the players during Saturday's open first-team training session. The renovated area was officially dubbed Victoria Block back in December by those supporters' groups, as an homage to Victoria Street, which borders the North end of the facility.

The Galaxy are debuting a safe-standing section in 2020 alongside the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United and expansion Inter Miami. Those four will join LAFC, the San Jose EarthquakesOrlando City SC, and Minnesota United in featuring safe standing at their home field, bringing the league total up to eight stadiums.
