LA Galaxy supporters have a name for new safe-standing section: Victoria Block

The LA Galaxy supporters’ groups, including Angel City Brigade, Galaxians and the Galaxy Outlawz, announced Thursday that the new safe-standing supporters’ section located at the north end of Dignity Health Sports Park will be deemed Victoria Block.

The renovated area, which pays homage to the bordering Victoria Street on the north side of the ground, will provide safe standing for multiple Galaxy supporters' groups and represents the latest addition to an MLS trend. The club announced the move to a safe-standing section back in July.

In safe-standing sections, railings rather than seats separate rows, allowing fans to stand for the match's duration.

The Galaxy are becoming the fifth MLS club to adopt such a section. They join LAFC's Banc of California Stadium, the San Jose Earthquakes' Avaya Stadium, Minnesota United's Alianz Field and Orlanco City's Exploria Stadium.

D.C. United are also planning to add a safe-standing area in the north end of Audi Field.

To get the first look at Victoria Block, the Galaxy will host an open training at Dignity Health Sports Park on Feb. 8.
