TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Former US men’s national teamer Danny Williams is being “shopped” to unnamed MLS teams as a potential winter transfer-window acquisition, according to The Washington Post’s Steve Goff.

Now playing in Cyprus with Pafos FC, the central midfielder left Huddersfield Town last summer after two years with the English club, the first of which was spent in the Premier League. The German-American also carries experience with Reading FC and with Bundesliga clubs Freiburg and Hoffenheim.

Williams, 30, was a USMNT regular under former coach Jurgen Klinsmann, earning 23 caps from 2011-17 after switching his international allegiance from Germany, though he missed out on the 2014 World Cup roster. Typically used as a box-to-box or holding mid, he’s a rangy, destructive presence in the middle of the park.
