Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has made no secret of hoping to grow MLS into a selling league, but you can't accomplish that without inventory. Thus, one route general managers take is mining leagues around the world for talent to fill out their rosters.


To take stock of that trend, here's the full list of international offseason acquisitions as of Jan. 4, as sorted by nation of their former club. So far, the greatest amount of international acquisitions have come from two locations also in the Western Hemisphere: Mexico's Liga MX and Brazil's Serie A.
