Quincy Amarikwa volleyed in Wayne Rooney's free kick for an 86th-minute equalizer as D.C. United salvaged a 2-2 draw against the 10-man New England Revolution in Week 19 at Audi Field after going two behind early.
Amarikwa's goal was his first for D.C. since signing as a free agent in the leadup to their season opener. Leo Jara also scored his first goal for the Black-and-Red -- or any other MLS side -- to cut the deficit to 2-1 just before halftime.
Teal Bunbury put the Revs ahead after only four minutes with his fourth goal of the season, all coming in the last five matches. Carles Gil doubled the lead just after the half-hour mark as New England remained unbeaten (4-4-0) since coach Bruce Arena took over.
But the Revs were forced to absorb most of the pressure late once referee Ted Unkel sent off Wilfried Zahibo for his second bookable offense in the 63rd minute, which came only 14 minutes after his first yellow card.

- THE BIG PICTURE: Mentor Bruce Arena still holds the all-time advantage over pupil and D.C. boss Ben Olsen, with his record now 4W-1L-4D record all-time in games contested between the two head coaches. Those meetings were usually limited to once a season when Arena coached out West with the Galaxy. Now they'll come at least twice a season in league play, not to mention possible meetings in the postseason or U.S. Open Cup.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Amarikwa had only been in the match four minutes when he stabbed Rooney's service out of the air with the authority some of his teammates -- including Rooney himself -- had lacked during the second half.
- MAN OF THE MATCH:Paul Arriola. Amarikwa certainly gets honorable mention for his late cameo, but when it was going all New England's way, Arriola did the hard work to essentially create Jara's goal out of nothing. He continued to be D.C.'s most dangerous player after halftime, was robbed of a goal by Matt Turner's diving save, and a second assist by Rooney's errant finish.
