It's Rocky Mountain Cup time again as the Colorado Rapids host Real Salt Lake Saturday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
The Rapids (0-8-2) have lost seven straight games following a 3-2 defeat at Vancouver last Friday night in Conor Casey's debut as interim coach. Kei Kamara struck for a brace with a pair of penalty kick goals, but Andy Rose scored the winner for the Whitecaps three minutes from full time.
RSL (3-6-1) dropped a 2-1 decision to the Portland Timbers for their second consecutive loss. Sam Johnson leveled for RSL before Diego Valeri scored the decisive goal six minutes later.
RSL have won the Rocky Mountain Cup for three consecutive years, beating the Rapids, 6-0, in the last meeting in Commerce City.
