TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

WEDNESDAY, 11:30 AM ET: Minnesota United look like they could be set to welcome a veteran goalkeeper from the English leagues, according to a report from UK site football.london.

Reading ‘keeper Vito Mannone is the player in question, a 30-year-old Italian with stints at Arsenal, Hull City and Sunderland on his resume.

Reporter Jonathan Low states that Mannone has fallen out of favor under new Royals manager Jose Gomes, who took over at Reading in December, and will move to Minnesota on loan. Mannone’s current contract is said to run until the summer of 2020.

The Athletic's Jeff Rueter confirmed the report later on Wednesday:

The Loons currently have two goalkeepers on their roster: incumbent starter Bobby Shuttleworth and rookie Dayne St. Clair, who was selected with the seventh overall pick of last month’s SuperDraft.
