It was only a friendly, but Alphonso Davies nonetheless got his Bayern Munich career off to a flying start on Sunday.
The Vancouver Whitecaps Homegrown product made his debut as a substitute in the Bavarian giants' penalty-kick shootout win over Fortuna Dusseldorf in the final of the Telekom Cup, a friendly tournament that's helping Bayern prepare for the second half of their Bundesliga campaign. Davies showed flashes of the flair that made him appointment viewing in MLS:
...and was later given the honor of hoisting the trophy, afterwards saying, "I'm living the dream, it makes me want to cry" amid strong praise from his illustrious Bayern teammates.
