Atlanta United sign Georgia native goalkeeper Brendan Moore

Atlanta United announced on Wednesday that they have signed goalkeeper Brendan Moore, most recently of Rochdale AFC in England's League One. He attended high school in nearby Roswell, Georgia.

Moore, 26, made 10 appearances for Rochdale this season in League One but was out of contract this month. He made 58 appearances for Torquay United in the National League before joining Rochdale in 2017.

“Brendan is a talented young goalkeeper with a bright future and we’re pleased to have added him to our roster,” Atlanta vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement. “He’s a local product with valuable professional experience in England and he’ll add quality to overall group of goalkeepers.”

Moore attended North Carolina before leaving for England. He was a two-year starter for the Tar Heels, helping to lead them to an Elite Eight appearance in his senior season.
