The
Houston Dynamo
announced their decisions on the contract status of half of this season’s roster on Tuesday, picking up the 2019 options for 10 players and declining those of six others.

Among the prominent names who will return to La Naranja as a result: AJ DeLaGarza, Romell Quioto, Juan David Cabezas, Boniek Garcia and Joe Willis.

Houston declined options on defenders Conor Donovan, Leonardo, Adolfo Machado, Dylan Remick and Jared Watts as well as forward Mac Steeves. The club also noted that veterans Arturo Alvarez, DaMarcus Beasley, Philippe Senderos and Andrew Wenger are now out of contract, while Luis Gil’s loan stint from Mexican side Queretaro is set to expire at year’s end.

With Tuesday’s news the Dynamo – who won the 2018 U.S. Open Cup but failed to qualify for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs in the wake of last year’s run to the Western Conference Championship stage – currently have 20 players under contract for next season.
