TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Rumor
A player who has a good chance of playing in the World Cup this summer is being linked to MLS this summer.
Peruvian midfielder Pedro Aquino, currently under contract with Liga MX side Monterrey, appears to be on the move in the summer transfer window, and reports out of Peru indicate the 23-year-old has many suitors, including unnamed MLS teams.

As the tweet above indicates, while the current frontrunner for Aquino appears to be another Liga MX outfit, Cruz Azul, there is apparent interest from a variety of locations.
Aquino never played for Monterrey after joining from Sporting Cristal in 2017, instead going on loan to Lobos BUAP. That team has been relegated this season, and with Aquino looking likely to play in the World Cup for Peru, his stock could rise if he impresses in Russia.
