Mexico national team head coach Juan Carlos Osorio will be keeping a close eye on medical results of two MLS players ahead of Monday's deadline to submit the provisional roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup: midfielders Giovani Dos Santos and brother Jonathan Dos Santos of the LA Galaxy each suffered an injury this week.
Gio picked up "a small knock in training" and didn't travel with the team for Saturday's match against FC Dallas in Frisco, Texas. The injury was first noted by Kevin Baxter in the Los Angeles Times.
No Giovani dos Santos today after he picked up a small knock in training late this week. Chris Pontius enters the lineup. Sigi also shuffles the back line and places Dan Steres at the RB position.

Jona, meanwhile, started the match but went down in the 49th minute. He limped off the sideline before coming back in an attempt to play through it, but was eventually replaced in the 56th minute by Servando Carrasco.
