According to a report out of Sweden, 26-year-old outside back Anton Tinnerholm is on his way to MLS.
Expressen reported on Tuesday that the Swedish international will be signed by an American club in the next few days. Tinnerholm, who is currently with Swedish club Malmo, denied that talks are that far along, telling the outlet that there is interest from an MLS club, but that he hasn’t yet signed.
Tinnerholm has been a regular starter since he joined Malmo in July 2014. He made 27 league appearances and was named Allsvenskan defender of the year in 2017 en route to helping Malmo to the league title, his third with the club.
Tinnerholm has seven career caps for the Swedish national team, including one this year. He was not named to Sweden’s roster for their recent World Cup qualification playoff triumph against Italy.
