Late Bustos goal gives 'Caps win over Dynamo
The Vancouver Whitecaps left it just about as late as they could before pulling out a 2-0 victory on a 98th-minute Marco Bustos strike and then an own goal Tuesday night over the Houston Dynamo in a preseason match divided into four, 30-minute quarters in Tucson, Ariz.
Whitecaps Residency invitee Alphonso Davies assisted on the opening strike, giving Vancouver their third preseason win in as many games. The Houston own goal came in the 118th minute, leading to the final score.
It was the first preseason loss for the Dynamo after a win and draw; they return to action Saturday against the Colorado Rapids in Arizona. Vancouver are back at it Sunday, Feb. 21 against the Chicago Fire in the opener of the Simple Invitational in Portland, Ore.
