Report: Colorado Rapids to acquire former Seattle Sounders midfielder Marco Pappa

Marco Pappa reportedly has a landing place without having to go through Friday’s MLS Re-Entry Draft.

The former Seattle Sounders midfielder, whose option was declined by the team earlier this week, has been acquired by the Colorado Rapids, according to a Denver Post article citing league sources.

The 28-year-old Guatemalan international was pulled from the Re-Entry Draft pool moments before it started. Pappa spent the past two seasons with the Sounders, scoring nine goals and recording 11 assists in that span after returning to the league from Dutch side SC Heerenveen.

Prior to his move to Europe, Pappa played for the Chicago Fire from 2008-12.
