The 2016 MLS season will reportedly have a brief summer break.

SI.com reported on Tuesday that MLS is unlikely to schedule any games during the group stage of the Copa America Centenario, a special, one-off tournament that will be played in the US from June 3-26. MLS is no stranger to hitting the pause button during big international tournaments, as it has done so for the group stages of the last two World Cups.

Just last week it was announced that the centennial edition of the Copa America will be played across 10 US cities, including New York, Orlando, and Seattle.

The US national team will take part in the tournament, likely as one of four seeded teams per SI.com's report. The tournament will feature all 10 national teams affiliated to CONMEBOL, the governing body for soccer in South America, as well as six North American teams: the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica and two teams to be determined.
