Greg Garza on the run for Tijuana

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – US international Greg Garza went the full 90 minutes as Club Tijuana dropped from first place into second in the Liga MX Clausura 2015 table after a 2-2 draw against Chiapas on Saturday.

Garza played a defensive left back role for Tijuana after a knee knock forced him off early last weekend, with Gabrial Farfan on the bench for the opposition, who remain in the playoff places.

Joe Corona once again came on as a sub for Xolos in the 58th minute and went close to scoring five minutes later with a volley from just outside the area that Oscar Jiménez diverted out for a corner.

In Monterrey, Herculez Gomez came on in the 63rd for Puebla in a 1-0 defeat against his former side Tigres. He had a chance to equalize in the 67th minute with an effort from a tight angle, but ‘keeper Nahuel Guzman tipped it wide.

Michael Orozco, on his 29th birthday, went the full 90 minutes in a positive defensive performance for La Franja, who remained five points behind Chivas de Guadalajara in the relegation table.

In the Ascenso MX, left back Juan Pablo Ocegueda played the complete match for Alebrijes de Oaxaca away in their 1-1 draw against Celaya.
