American Exports: Jozy Altidore left out of Sunderland 18, reportedly dropped to U-21s

Jozy Altidore misses a chance

US international Jozy Altidore appears to have fallen out of Sunderland coach Gus Poyet's favor entirely, as the forward was not included in the matchday 18 for Monday's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Beyond that, Altidore has been dropped to Sunderland's U-21 squad for their match against Spurs' U-21s, according to the Sunderland Echo on Monday.

Altidore last played for the Black Cats first team on March 26 in a 2-1 league loss to Liverpool. He made the bench in Sunderland's last game, but didn't see action. His only league goal for the club came last December, when he scored the opener in a 4-3 loss to Chelsea.
