GUADALAJARA , Mexico – Tigres UANL defeated Liga MX leaders Cruz Azul 3-0 at home on Saturday in US international midfielder Jose Torres’ first start of the Clausura season, with the American netting the third goal in his team’s win.

Torres arrived late in the box in the 83rd to finish a low, left-footed shot for Tigres, who took away La Máquina’s undefeated record.

The former Pachuca man went the full 90 minutes in midfield as his team moved up to 13th place in the league after ten rounds of matches in the season, putting them back in the playoff race after a poor start to the season.
