World Cup: Bright Dike called up for Nigeria's friendly against Mexico on March 5 in Atlanta

Bright Dike celebrates his goal for Nigeria vs. Italy

Bright Dike’s quest to make the final cut for Nigeria’s World Cup roster took another step in the right direction.

The Toronto FC striker is part of Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi’s 23-man roster for the Super Eagles’ international friendly March 5 against Mexico at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. He’ll join mainstays such as Chelsea’s John Mikel Obi and captain Joseph Yobo of Norwich City for the African champions.

The 27-year-old Oklahoma native earned his second cap with Nigeria in November, scoring his first international goal in a 2-2 draw against Italy in a friendly at London's Craven Cottage

Mexico and Nigeria have played four games all-time with a 1-0-3 record in favor of Mexico. The two teams last met in May of 2013 in an international match that ended in a 2-2 draw.
