Forbes releases first MLS Most Valuable Teams list since 2008

The Seattle Sounders may have been bounced from the playoffs in the Conference Semifinals, but they are MLS's top-valued club, according to Forbes.


The outlet, famous for its many business-related rankings, released the first list of MLS's Most Valuable Teams since 2008, and the Sounders, who weren't even in MLS back then, came out on top. The LA Galaxy, who topped the 2008 list, came in second, follwed by the Portland Timbers, who are in just their third year in MLS.


Top 5 on MLS's Most Valuable Teams list, per Forbes:

  1. Seattle Sounders, $175m
  2. LA Galaxy, $170m
  3. Portland Timbers, $141m
  4. Houston Dynamo, $125m
  5. Toronto FC, $121m
