PASADENA, Calif. — D.C. United forward Kyle Porter will replace Nana Attakora on Canada's Gold Cup roster, the Canadian Soccer Association announced on Saturday.

Attakora never reported to Canadian national team camp ahead of the tournament due to lingering concussion symptoms, and the San Jose Earthquakes defender will not be part of interim head coach Colin Miller's 23-man roster.

Porter has been placed on “stand-by” and will only join up with the team should the coaching staff require his services. The 23-year-old former Vancouver Whitecaps Residency product received his first two caps this year in January friendlies against Denmark and the United States.

Canada open the Gold Cup against Martinique on Sunday here at the Rose Bowl (5:30 pm ET, Fox Soccer in US, Sportsnet World in Canada). They then head to Seattle to play Mexico at CenturyLink Field on July 11 before wrapping up the group stage against Panama in Denver on July 14.
