MONTREAL – Marco Di Vaio and Alessandro Nesta are great friends, but they certainly don’t feel the need to do everything together.
Whereas Nesta hinted this February that the 2013 MLS season could be his last, Di Vaio went quite the other way on Sunday night. Invited onto the set of primetime Quebec talk show Tout le Monde en Parle, the Italian forward didn’t close the door on extending his stay in Montreal if his 36-year-old body allows it.

“I don’t really know,” Di Vaio admitted. “My contract runs out in December, so we’ll see after that, but if I can keep on training every day and help the team, I’d like to carry on.”
Di Vaio impressed the panel of guests with his French language skills – “You’re doing better than many Canadiens players,” co-host Dany Turcotte quipped, referencing Montreal's ubiquitious NHL franchise – and appears to be enjoying his new Québécois life, which began last summer. Asked if he was already feeling at home in the city of fellow guest and teammate Patrice Bernier, Di Vaio responded enthusiastically.
"My family and I are feeling good in Montreal,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for us to learn two languages and to live a life that’s completely different from the one we had in Italy.”
