American Exports: Bradley injured, likely out for WC quals

Michael Bradley

AMSTERDAM – Fresh off a solid debut for the club, AS Roma midfielder Michael Bradley suffered a thigh injury in training on Tuesday that will likely keep him out of action for club and country until the second half of September.

The US international started physiotherapy work immediately, but will miss Sunday's trip to Inter Milan and possibly a Sept. 16 visit from Bologna. The 25-year-old will also be unavailable for the upcoming home-and-home pair of World Cup 2014 qualifiers against Jamaica on Sept. 7 and 11.

"Bradley has suffered a first- to second-degree muscle strain in his right thigh," Roma press officer Catia Augelli told MLSsoccer.com. "He has already begun treatment, and will be monitored and reassessed over the next few days. I think he will be missed for about two or three weeks."

Having arrived this summer from Serie A rival Chievo, the US mainstay notched an assist on the last-gasp equalizer in their season opening 2-2 draw with Catania over the weekend.
