Budweiser and the MetroStars are looking for participants for the 2004 Budweiser Shootout. The Budweiser Shootout will take place on August 21, 2004 at Riverbank Park in Newark, NJ. The first round of the shootout was held last weekend at the MetOval in Maspeth, Queens. The winning team from each local Budweiser Shootout event will then compete in a championship round against one another at halftime of the MetroStars game vs. New England on September 11, 2004.
The Budweiser Shootout will consist of sixteen (16) teams, eight (8) NY and eight (8) NJ. Each team will be made up of one (1) striker and one (1) goalie. Teams will compete in a knockout style tournament. The winning team of each Budweiser shootout event will win a total amount of $250 to be split among the team members. The winning team of the Championship round will win an additional $250 to be split among the team members.
