A steady right fullback with an accurate cross and 11 years of MLS experience under his belt, Steven Beitashour was reunited with Rapids head coach Robin Fraser, who was an assistant coach with Toronto FC where Beitashour was once a regular starter. Drafted in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft (30th overall) out of San Diego State University, the San Jose native helped his hometown club win the 2012 Supporters' Shield, and was a regular starter at right wingback for TFC's MLS Cup Championship team in 2017. He joined LAFC for their first two seasons as an MLS team in 2018 and 2019.
INTERNATIONAL: Born to Iranian parents, the 2012 MLS All-Star made his debut with the Iranian national team in 2013, playing a major role in 2015 AFC Asian Cup qualification and earning a place on the country's 2014 World Cup squad. Prior to committing to Iran, Beitashour had been called into one camp with the US national team, getting the call from then-head coach Jurgen Klinsmann in August, 2012.
