2022 (CHICAGO FIRE): Played 90 minutes in the 3-2 win over FC Cincinnati on Oct. 1 at TQL Stadium...Played 90 minutes in the 2-2 tie (4-5 loss in penalty shootout) against Union Omaha in the third round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 19 at Soldier Field.

Chicago Fire FC acquired goalkeeper Spencer Richey via Free Agency in December 2021. Richey is under contract with the Fire through 2023 with a Club option for the 2024 season. Richey joins the Fire after spending the 2021 season with Seattle Sounders FC, where he featured in MLS play and in the USL Championship with Tacoma Defiance FC. A native of Seattle, Wash., Richey originally began his professional career with Vancouver Whitecaps FC in 2015, making 46 USL Championship appearances for Whitecaps FC II. Outside of MLS play, he appeared in four Canadian Championship matches and two Concacaf Champions League fixtures with Vancouver.

After spending three seasons with Whitecaps FC, he joined FC Cincinnati in 2018 for its final season in USL, appearing in 16 games. He remained with Cincinnati for its first two MLS seasons, starting 28 of 29 appearances.
