Career Summary

2022: The longest-serving player in the NYCFC squad, Chanot put pen to paper on a new contract with the Club in May 2022, extending his stay for a further three years. Playing 24 games throughout the year, the defender also contributed at the sharp end of the pitch with a goal and an assist in successive games – his goal a rocket from outside the box against FC Charlotte. He played 90 minutes of our Campeones Cup victory over Atlas F.C. and helped the Club to reach the Eastern Conference Final.

2021: A veteran presence in the locker room Chanot was able to anchor the NYCFC defence to great effect in 2021. Chanot started 29 of the Club's 34 regular season games during which he formed a formidable partnership with Alex Callens. The pair carried that momentum into the playoffs where both played all four games as the Club won MLS Cup.

2020: The French-born defender played 20 regular-season games for NYCFC in 2020 and racked up 1712 minutes in the process. He helped the club to seven clean sheets during that run.

2019: The defender played and started in 31 matches for NYCFC, racking up 2,790 minutes for the season. His consistency in the backline and his leadership in the locker room earned him the title of NYCFC's Defender of the Year for the 2019 season.

2018: Maxime Chanot played and started in eighteen matches across the 2018 campaign. The Luxembourgian would also score for his home country in international competition. Chanot also made 6 UEFA Nations League appearances for Luxembourg and scored a goal in the group stage match vs. San Marino. Maxime Chanot re-signed for the club following the conclusion of the campaign.

2017: Maxime Chanot and Alexander Callens struck up a nice partnership for NYCFC early in the season, but the Luxembourg international’s second year with the club was beset by injuries during the back half. In 19 appearances, the center back scored a pair of goals and looks set to make a big impact in 2018.

2016: Luxembourg international defender Maxime Chanot made his NYCFC debut in the 5-1 victory over Colorado Rapids in July and went on to earn a place in the MLS Team of the Week for his performance against San Jose Earthquakes the following week. He suffered a herniated disc in September which saw him limited to eight appearances in his freshman season in MLS.
