World Cup Watch: Sanabria makes debut, Eustáquio stays hot
As we inch ever closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, players from across MLS aim to boost their stock in the hopes of securing a place on their national team's final squad.
Sanabria began his development with Uruguayan Club Nacional de Football’s youth academy in 2012 from hometown club, Club Nacional de Florida. In January 2017, Atlético Madrid facilitated a transfer, and he officially joined the club, being assigned to the Juvenil A squad after turning 18. The midfielder made his senior debut on August 24, 2019, starting in a Segunda División B victory, and scored his first senior goal just weeks later on September 7. He debuted for Atlético Madrid’s first team on December 16, 2020, before moving on loan to Real Zaragoza in January 2021, where he made his professional debut on February 12, 2021. Internationally, Sanabria has earned 88 caps across Uruguay’s youth national teams and made his senior national team debut on October 10, 2025, scoring his first goal three days later in a 2–1 win over Uzbekistan.
