GALAXY EARN A POINT ON THE ROAD AGAINST REVS IN FINAL MATCH BEFORE ALL-STAR BREAK: The New England Revolution and Los Angeles Galaxy shared the points in an entertaining 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium last Wednesday night in their last match prior to the 2005 Sierra Mist All-Star Game. Herculez Gomez opened the scoring for the visitors in the 16th minute from a Landon Donovan feed. New England's Shalrie Joseph leveled from the penalty spot 10 minutes later after Ugo Ihemelu handled the ball in the area. After a cagey first half in which both sides possessed well, but did not commit to moving forward, the second half opened up with entertaining attacking play and chances for both sides to seize the three points, but neither could hit home and they left the field in the deadlock and looked ahead to the second half of the 2005 regular season.
MLS ALL STARS SCORE THREE GOALS IN SECOND HALF, DEFEAT FULHAM 4-1: The MLS All-Stars got three second-half goals, including a pair from substitute Jeff Cunningham, to race past Fulham FC of the English Premier League for a 4-1 victory in the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon at Columbus Crew Stadium. MLS All-Star Game Honda MVP Taylor Twellman (New England Revolution) gave the MLS team the lead midway through the first half, but a penalty converted by Fulham's Claus Jensen sent the teams into the break level. Ronnie O'Brien (FC Dallas) deflected a Clint Dempsey (New England Revolution) shot to put the MLS side ahead for good just before the hour. Cunningham (Colorado Rapids) scored two goals in the final five minutes to provide the final scoreline.
